Ponce snaps skid, Manatí tops Caguas in BSNF

The Leonas of Ponce and the Atenienses of Manatí notched victories on Sunday night in the National Women’s Superior Basketball (BSNF) league.


Talia von Oelhoffen scored 30 points, with seven rebounds and eight assists as the Leonas snapped a five-game losing streak by defeating the Pollitas of Isabela 76-70 at Juan “Pachín” Vicéns Auditorium in Ponce.


The Leonas improved their record to 2-5, while Isabela dropped into a third-place tie with Carolina at 5-4.


Dariauna Lewis added 23 points for Ponce. For the Pollitas, Anisha George led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Lasha Petree and Nina De León added 15 and 13 points, respectively.


In Manatí, the Atenienses defeated the Criollas of Caguas, 90-81.


Pamela Rosado led the way for Manatí with 23 points. Kaela Hilaire followed with 17 points, while Chelsea Mitchell and Kiyana McGill each added 15, with McGill grabbing 10 rebounds.


For Caguas, Katie Villarini scored 22 points, Asia Taylor had 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Kai James added 13 points.
