Postponed 2nd game of Double A baseball finals was to resume Sunday

The second game of the Brava Lubricants Final Series to decide the Double A Superior Baseball League championship was suspended Saturday night due to weather conditions at Mariano “Niní” Meaux Stadium in Juncos.
The game between the Patillas Leones (Lions) and Juncos Mulos (Mules) was stopped in the bottom of the scoreless first inning. It was to resume late Sunday afternoon, weather permitting, at the same location, with the Leones leading the series 1-0 after a 2-0 victory in the opener in Ponce on Friday night.
The pitching duo of Ryan Muñoz and Christian Bonilla was enough to limit the Juncos offense to five hits in Game 1 at Francisco “Paquito” Montaner Stadium.
Muñoz earned the win after pitching seven solid innings with six strikeouts, while Bonilla completed the relief effort to earn the save.
With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, Jan Arroyo and Elerie Rivera hit back-to-back singles, paving the way for an RBI single by Reymond Fuentes to open the scoring for Patillas.
The Leones’ second run came in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Germán Morales, which brought home Bryan Colón from third. Both runs came off right-hander Héctor Quiñones, who allowed seven hits in four innings and took the loss.
Despite the setback, the Mulos turned a spectacular triple play in the fifth inning, when with two runners on base, Jeffrey Domínguez hit a groundball to third base to start the rare defensive play.
