Puerto Rico Lottery Bureau Assistant Secretary Heidi Hernández Olivo announced on Tuesday that the Powerball jackpot has risen to $1.25 billion, one of the highest jackpots recorded for that game.
“This level of jackpot generates significant interest and requires the public to participate in an informed manner,” Hernández Olivo said in a written statement.
The official said that in addition to the Powerball jackpot, local electronic games have accumulated prizes, with Loto Cash at $1,085,000 and La Revancha at $245,000, as available alternatives for players in Puerto Rico.
As part of the drawing held on Monday, a player from the municipality of Orocovis won a secondary prize of $200,000 in Powerball, according to the Lottery Bureau.
Hernández Olivo urged players to always verify official information and to play responsibly, while reminding them that each play contributes to social impact programs in areas such as health, education, sports and community development.
