PR adds more medals at Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay

The pair of Yannik Álvarez and Aurora Lugo earned the silver medal in mixed doubles on Saturday after losing in the final to Colombians Juan Miguel Bolívar and Valentina Mediorreal in straight sets at the II Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay.
In the men’s singles tournament, meanwhile, Álvarez picked up the bronze medal after losing in straight sets to Ecuadorian Emilio Camacho and finishing fourth in the continental championship, an achievement that also earned him a Pan American diploma.
With the silver medal in tennis, Puerto Rico has won six medals so far at Asunción 2025:
Gold: Xavier Ruiz, 100-meter breaststroke (swimming); and Gabriela Hwang, sabre (fencing).
Silver: Aurora Lugo/Yannik Álvarez, mixed doubles (tennis).
Bronze: Sebastián García, foil (fencing); Xavier Ruiz, 200m medley (swimming); Ilay Rodríguez, 58 kilograms (taekwondo).
