The Puerto Rican delegation marched Saturday night at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción, Paraguay during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
“Tonight, Puerto Rico was once again present on the continental stage with a young, talented, and dream-filled delegation,” Puerto Rico Olympic Committee President Sara Rosario Vélez said in a written statement. “Seeing [flag bearers] Gladymar [Torres] and Steven [Moreno Rivera] leading this parade, with our entire delegation behind them, is a clear message: we are ready to compete, represent, and leave with Puerto Rico’s name at the top.”
The Puerto Rican delegation, made up of 109 young athletes, will compete in 25 disciplines, led by Torres in track & field and Moreno Rivera in table tennis.
