The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA) reported Tuesday that immediate response brigades were already on the scene to address a significant break in the sanitary sewer system in the Santa Juanita sector of Bayamón.

PRASA Executive President Luis Reinaldo González Delgado said engineer Luis González Traverso, director of the Metropolitan Region, and Juan Quiñónes, PRASA operations director, had already been deployed on site.

“While the repair work is being carried out, customers residing in the Santa Juanita development – from the Sixth to the Twelfth Section – as well as the Fruto Álvarez area and adjacent sectors, could experience low water pressure or a temporary interruption in drinking water service,” González Delgado said. “We are addressing this situation urgently.”

The PRASA chief said a break in a 16-inch water line caused by a contractor was directly impacting the Padre Rufo pumping station.
