Aguadilla Mayor Julio Roldán Concepción and the Puerto Rican company Prime Amusement and Recreation Centers have announced a public-private partnership for the administration and operation of Las Cascadas Water Park in the northwestern coastal town.
“This Public-Private Partnership represents a savings of millions for our municipality, allowing us to redirect those funds toward social welfare projects,” the mayor said in a written statement. “Furthermore, it guarantees additional improvements to the park’s facilities, job creation, and a new initiative to internationalize the park as a premier Caribbean tourist attraction.”
The company will be led by its president, Huáscar Alomar -- a Puerto Rican entrepreneur with extensive experience in the family entertainment and aquatic recreation industries.
According to reports, Prime Amusement and Recreation Centers also manages the Surf N Fun Water Park in San Germán.
“It is an honor for us to assume the administration of Las Cascadas Water Park -- a facility that has served as a fundamental part of Puerto Rico’s recreational offerings for decades. Our commitment is to continue elevating the park experience, strengthening its operations, and positioning it as one of the most significant recreational destinations in the Caribbean,” Alomar said.
The new administration will assume responsibility for continuing to develop the park’s operations, with the aim of bolstering the recreational and tourism offerings of western Puerto Rico.
Las Cascadas Water Park is one of the island’s best-known water parks and a leading recreational attraction in the western region.
