Puerto Rico Lottery Bureau Assistant Secretary Heidi Hernández Olivo presented a commemorative ticket on Wednesday celebrating the Orocovis Bicentennial as part of the municipality’s 200th anniversary festivities.

During the visit, Hernández Olivo delivered the commemorative ticket to Mayor Jesús E. Colón Berlingeri, first lady Liza M. Otero, their son Sebastián Colón, Municipal Legislature leader Antonio Meléndez Vargas, and artists Reniet Ramírez and Fransela Burgos, who created the official artwork for the Bicentennial. Each received the ticket in recognition of their contributions to the celebration and to the cultural development of the municipality.

Hernández Olivo emphasized the symbolic importance of the special project for the Traditional Lottery.

“The Bicentennial of Orocovis represents two centuries of effort, identity, and pride for this community,” she said. “For us at the Lottery, it is an honor to commemorate this occasion with a ticket that reflects the history, culture, and essence of this municipality.”

Colón Berlingeri expressed his gratitude and emphasized the significance of the recognition for the community.

“The Bicentennial commemorative ticket is a tribute to our people and our history,” he said. “We thank the Traditional Lottery for joining this celebration and acknowledging the value of our beautiful town of Orocovis.”

The artists also shared their excitement at seeing their work circulated throughout Puerto Rico, noting that the design highlights key elements of Orocovis’ heritage and will serve as a lasting historical memento.
