The Delta Phi Delta Fraternity and the San Blas Half Marathon Organizing Committee announced earlier this week the opening of registration for the 64th edition of the international event, which will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, on the traditional route in Coamo.

“We would like to inform you that we have opened the registration process for the 64th edition of the San Blas Half Marathon. We encourage runners to register at micarrerapr.com. We will accept registrations until the established limit is reached,” said Cruz Alberto Torres Colón, president of the race, in a written statement. “We are ready to offer an international-quality event, which will undoubtedly feature mass participation from local and international athletes.”

The race’s 2026 edition is expected to reach a record participation of 5,000 runners. Logistics include 16 oases managed by volunteers from communities and high schools, as well as increased emergency medical resources and support from security agencies such as the Firefighters, Police, and Emergency Management & Disaster Administration bureaus.

Registration is at a reduced rate of $40 until Dec. 31, 2025. From Feb. 1 to Feb. 15, 2026, the rate will be $50, then $60, while spaces last.

As a prelude to the event, the José Elías “Chelías” de Jesús Fun Run will be held on Jan. 10, 2026. The 16-kilometer race will start at 7 a.m. from the Luis Muñoz Rivera Public Plaza.

“In 2023, we broke a record with 1,613 runners; in 2024, we closed registrations with 2,100 athletes, and in 2025, we had 3,100,” Torres Colón noted. “This year, we’re ready to meet a new historic goal.”
