“Since its creation, our campus has been a pillar of academic excellence and a benchmark of progress for Puerto Rico and the world,” RUM Chancellor Agustín Rullán Toro in a written statement. “Our university community has maintained a legacy of excellence, effort and collegial spirit.”
Rullán Toro highlighted the advances in research and international collaborations, such as the recent $18 million grant from the National Science Foundation for the BioFoundry RNA project, which positions the RUM as a leader in scientific research.
The RUM is also preparing for its 36th Job Fair, which will be held Oct. 11 at Rafael A. Mangual Coliseum, where the participation of dozens of companies seeking to recruit college talent is expected.
As part of the commemoration, the college band and its flag bearers made their traditional tour of the university campus.
