The Prodigiosas of Sabana Grande and the Caribeñas of Salinas were winners on Saturday with the first shutouts of the 2026 Women’s Softball Premier League (LPSF by its initials in Spanish) season.


Prodigiosas pitcher Morgan Smith worked all six innings of the contest, striking out eight batters to guide Sabana Grande to a 3-0 victory over the Grises of Humacao.


Luna Taboas led the offensive attack with a triple and two RBIs.


The Prodigiosas completed the sweep in the second game of the doubleheader, defeating Humacao, 7-0. Pitcher Alyssa Ramírez earned the win after allowing just one hit and striking out three batters over three innings of work.


Chloe Malau’ulu drove in two runs for the winners.


In Salinas, the Caribeñas also opened the season with a shutout, defeating the Valencianas of Juncos, 3-0.


Mexican pitcher Yeraldine Carrión was the standout performer from the circle, pitching all six innings and recording six strikeouts to earn the win.


The Valencianas bounced back to win the second game, 3-1, and earn the split.


Xeana Kamalani was credited with the victory after pitching two innings and recording three strikeouts.
