Sports options abound in Morovis

Morovis Mayor Carmen Maldonado González announced recently that the municipal administration is continuing its strategy of providing services and promoting sports, creating spaces for all citizens to develop their skills.
“For example, we offer table tennis, a discipline that strengthens concentration, reflexes, coordination, and agility, while fostering discipline and athletic development,” the mayor said. “Classes are free, and we offer them in collaboration with the Morovis Table Tennis Club. Classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Interested individuals of all ages are welcome.”
In addition, the municipality offers free swimming lessons for adults at the municipal pool. Everyone is invited to participate every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 to 11 a.m.

Morovis has distinguished itself for many years as a sports hub in the north-central region of Puerto Rico. In fact, the municipal administration welcomes athletes and groups from all over the island to its Gerardo “Gerry” Torres Sports Complex, a facility that also houses the José “Pepe” Huyke Coliseum, the Alfredo “Dule” Otero court, volleyball courts, a swimming pool, a walking track, parking areas and security. The center is one of the most visited in Puerto Rico.
