The National Superior Basketball (BSN by its initials in Spanish) league announced this week that Travis Trice of the Criollos of Caguas will be the 2026 BSN Awards MVP, the league’s top award of the regular season.
The selection of the winners combined votes from accredited sports media and representatives of the league’s 10 teams.
Twenty-eight sports journalists participated in the voting, choosing first, second and third place in each category. Each first-place finish received three points, second place two points, and third place one point.
Team owners and representatives voted using the same format, but with double weighting: six points for first place, four for second, and two for third.
Daniel Rivera of the Gigantes of Carolina was selected Rookie of the Year, while André Curbelo of the Atléticos of San Germán won the Most Improved Player of the Year Award.
Christian “Cuco” López of the Criollos was chosen Sixth Man of the Year and also received the Social Impact Award.
Moses Brown, also of the Criollos, won Defensive Player of the Year. José “Cheo” Rivera of the Atléticos was recognized as Owner of the Year.
Christian Dalmau of the Vaqueros of Bayamón won Coach of the Year, while Jorge Vázquez received the Referee Excellence Award.
The 2026 All-Star Five consisted of Curbelo, Trice, Brown, Montrezl Harrell of the Atléticos and Jaylen Nowell of the Gigantes.
