The Cangrejeras of Santurce extended their unbeaten record to 8-0 in the Puerto Rican Volleyball Confederation (COPUVO) with a quick three-set victory against the Lady Sharks of Aguadilla on Wednesday night.


Santurce won 25-21, 26-16 and 25-23 at Roberto Clemente Coliseum in Hato Rey, earning four points to remain at the top of the standings with 26 points.


Aguadilla (1-5), meanwhile, shares seventh place with the Criollas of Caguas (1-3) and Las de la Mancha de Corozal (1-5), with four points each.


Camelia Meléndez was the Cangrejeras’ standout player, while Solymar Santos shone for the Lady Sharks.


The COPUVO season was to continue Thursday night with the Criollas visiting the Amazónicas of Trujillo Alto (4-3 | 15 points) at Rubén Zayas Montañez Coliseum, and Corozal hosting Santurce at Howard T. Jason Court.

Santurce dominating like that almost feels like they've cracked the code to winning! Every set was tight but they pulled through. It reminds me of the logic behind old encryption methods, where you have to understand the shift to get the message, like with a caesar cipher.
