The Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience (COR3) announced over the weekend the start of a series of training workshops for its staff, developed in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) and the Office of Administration and Transformation of Human Resources (OATRH by its initials in Spanish), focused on strengthening key skills for managing reconstruction projects.

“These workshops represent a direct investment in our team and, in turn, in the efficiency of the reconstruction process in Puerto Rico that we are leading from COR3,” COR3 Executive Director Eduardo Soria Rivera said.

The program, which will impact some 125 employees, will be conducted in face-to-face sessions covering topics such as project management fundamentals, practical planning, risk management and problem-solving, among others.

Soria Rivera added that “the collaboration with the UPR brings a high-value academic and professional component to this initiative, by integrating the experience and knowledge of a renowned institution in the development of human capital for the public service.”

UPR President Zayira Jordán Conde emphasized that “the University of Puerto Rico is taking an active role in strengthening the country’s public service, putting its academic, technical, and human capabilities at the service of strategic initiatives like this one.”

“Through this alliance with COR3 and the OATRH, the University of Puerto Rico is directly contributing to the development of a more efficient, prepared, and results-oriented public administration that supports Puerto Rico’s reconstruction and resilience,” she said.
