A total of 28 flights, both arrivals and departures to and from Luiz Muñoz Marín International Airport in Carolina, were cancelled on Sunday due to weather conditions in the mainland U.S., with a combined estimated 3,948 passengers affected.

Aerostar, the operator of Luiz Muñoz Marín International Airport in Carolina, announced on Sunday the cancellation of flights due to weather events in the mainland United States.


According to the report, nine arriving flights were canceled, affecting an estimated 1,096 passengers. The flights originated in Baltimore (BWI), Santo Domingo (STI), Newark (EWR), New York (JFK) and Philadelphia (PHL), and were operated by Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier and American Airlines.


As for departures, 19 flights were canceled, affecting an estimated 2,852 passengers. The affected destinations included Baltimore, New York (JFK), Philadelphia, Boston, Newark, Bradley (BDL), Westchester (HPN), Providence (PVD), and Orlando (MCO), among others. The cancellations were due to adverse weather conditions in the United States.


In total, the report indicated 28 canceled flights, both arrivals and departures, with a combined estimated 3,948 passengers affected.
