Women’s softball semifinal series opens Friday

Alondra Pérez and the Valencianas of Juncos will open the Women’s Premier Softball League semifinals this Friday at home against the Leonas of Ponce.

The Women’s Premier Softball League (LPSF by its initials in Spanish) announced on Monday the official schedule for “Road to Glory,” the 2026 season semifinal series that will bring together the regular season’s top four teams for a spot in the Crown Series.

The postseason will begin this Friday with two best-of-five semifinal series. The winners will advance to compete for the LPSF championship.

The Valencianas of Juncos, the Prodigiosas of Sabana Grande, and the two-time defending champion Bravas of Cidra finished tied for the best record in the regular season at 13-5.

League rules awarded first place to the Valencianas, second to the Prodigiosas and third to the Bravas, using the tiebreaker of head-to-head results. Juncos finished with a 4-2 record, Sabana Grande with 3-3, and Cidra with 2-4 in head-to-head games between the three teams.

The Leonas of Ponce secured the fourth and final playoff berth after finishing the regular season with a 10-8 record.

As the first and second seeds, Juncos and Sabana Grande will have home-field advantage during the semifinals, opening the series at home and hosting more games at their respective venues if necessary.

Semifinal A will pit the Valencianas against the Leonas, while Semifinal B will feature the Prodigiosas against the Bravas.

On opening day, Friday, Ponce will visit Juncos and Cidra will travel to Sabana Grande, with both games starting at 7 p.m.

The series will continue on Saturday with Juncos at Ponce and Sabana Grande at Cidra, also at 7 p.m.

The third game of both semifinals will be played on Sunday with the Leonas hosting the Valencianas and the Bravas hosting the Prodigiosas, starting at 4 p.m.

If necessary, the fourth games are scheduled for Saturday, July 11, with Juncos and Sabana Grande hosting at 7 p.m.
