The 2026 San Sebastián Street Festival will be dedicated to filmmaker and Puerto Rican cultural icon Jacobo Morales, the Municipality of San Juan announced on Wednesday, presenting the program for the event, which will be held from Jan. 15 to Jan. 18 in Old San Juan.

The dedication recognizes more than six decades of contributions to film, theater and television, as well as Morales’ impact on national culture. In addition, the municipality announced that it will award the Rafaela Balladares de Brito Culture Prize to the Arturo Somohano Philharmonic Orchestra for its 75th anniversary, to the Casals Festival for its 70th anniversary, and to the Centennial Committee of Catalino “Tite” Curet Alonso.

The artistic program will include performances in several plazas. Trío Los Andinos, Michelle Brava, Glenn Monroig, Choco Orta, Puerto Rican Power, Humberto Ramírez and Joseph Fonseca will perform in Plaza de la Barandilla.

Plaza del Quinto Centenario will feature La Tribu de Abrante, Tito Nieves, Plena Libre, Pedro Capó, Victoria Sanabria, Hermes Croatto, Grupo Manía, Víctor Manuelle, Juanes, Ednita Nazario, Tommy Torres and the official closing performance by Jowell and Randy.

The program includes the Third San Sebastián Trovadores (Troubadours) Cup, with a prize of $4,000, a craft fair with more than 80 artisans and dozens of micro-entrepreneurs, historical tours of emblematic sites in Old San Juan, and theatrical performances at the Tapia Theater.

Children’s activities will be concentrated in Plaza Salvador Brau, while religious events will take place at the San José Church, the San Juan Cathedral, and along the traditional route on San Sebastián Street.

The 2025 edition of the “SanSe” generated an estimated economic impact of $94 million in four days, and the municipality projects an investment similar to previous years, between $5 and $7 million.
