Gov. Jenniffer González Colón, as part of the Cumpliendo Contigo initiative, visited the municipality of Ceiba with several agency heads to address priority projects aimed at advancing the town’s development.
During the visit, officials highlighted plans by Department of Economic Development and Commerce Secretary Carlos J. Ríos Pierluisi to support the development of Roosevelt Roads. They also underscored coordination between the Government of Puerto Rico and the municipality to continue attracting private investment, strengthen Ceiba’s competitiveness and expand economic development opportunities in the region.
González Colón also joined Amy Vega, administrator of the Administration for the Care and Comprehensive Development of Children, to inspect Ceiba’s Two-Generation Center, a project focused on child development, for which state and federal funds have been invested in new equipment.
Separately, the governor, along with Ceiba Mayor Samuel Rivera and Housing Secretary Luis Augusto Martínez, inspected work at the public plaza, a $4.6 million project officials said will help spur economic development in the town center.
At the end of the meeting, González Colón said the work model will continue in other municipalities as part of her administration’s strategy to maintain direct follow-up on priority projects and ensure effective coordination between agencies and municipal governments. “Our commitment is to work alongside mayors so that projects move forward, are completed and translate into better services, greater economic activity and a better quality of life for citizens,” the governor said.
