Governor to declare day of mourning for death of journalist Delgado

Gov. Jenniffer González Colón announced on Tuesday that she will declare a day of mourning following the death of journalist Alex Alberto Delgado Rosado, who passed away from cancer.
“I want to join Alex Delgado’s family in offering my condolences on behalf of the people of Puerto Rico,” the governor said at a press conference.
The broadcaster’s family announced that funeral arrangements will be released soon.
“I believe that journalist Alex Delgado demonstrated professionalism of the highest caliber and the highest level in the performance of his duties, at NotiUno, on Pelota Dura, and in each and every forum where he participated,” she added.
González Colón stated that the death of the broadcaster has shaken many on the island and emphasized the courage with which Delgado Rosado faced his diagnosis alongside his family.
“We are saddened by the outcome, after how brave, courageous, and stoic Alex Delgado and his family were in facing his diagnosis,” she said.
“I will declare a day of mourning for the death of journalist Alex Delgado,” she added, asking for comfort for the broadcaster’s family.
Delgado Rosado studied at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He had a long career in radio, starting at WAPA Radio (Borinquen Radio) and Cadena Radio Puerto Rico (WIAC 740). He was also a producer and on-air talent for television programs and a columnist.
