More than 60 solar batteries distributed to Aguas Buenas residents with urgent needs

The solar battery distribution was carried out alongside municipal staff and Federal Affairs Program Director Iliana Aponte, following an evaluation process and verification that established requirements had been met.

Aguas Buenas Mayor Karina Nieves Serrano on Tuesday distributed dozens of solar batteries to more than 60 residents with urgent health conditions and those who are bedridden, as part of a coordinated and continuous response to ongoing energy needs.

The initiative is part of the municipal administration’s commitment to continue bringing aid and resources to those most in need.

The distribution was carried out alongside municipal staff and Federal Affairs Program Director Iliana Aponte, following an evaluation process and verification that established requirements had been met.

“This is the fourth phase of solar battery distribution we have carried out,” the mayor said. “Like the rest of Puerto Rico, we are facing power outages -- a reality that worsens during hurricane season. That is why we remain by our people’s side, addressing their needs, supporting them, and bringing them the resources we identify from the Mayor’s Office.”

Additionally, through the Citizen Assistance Office, the municipality provided families with roof sealants to help strengthen residents’ safety and well-being ahead of hurricane season.
