The leadership of the New Progressive Party (NPP) announced on Monday that the “Grand Closing for Puerto Rico to Win,” led by the pro-statehood party’s candidate for governor, Jenniffer González Colón, will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. at Mario “Quijote” Morales Stadium in Guaynabo.
“This closing will be a great celebration of the extraordinary work done by our candidates and the thousands of Puerto Ricans who have participated in this campaign,” González Colón said in a written statement.
The event will feature a town party, enlivened with performances by prominent musical acts. It will be the first time that an NPP campaign closing has been held in Guaynabo, and will include security measures, parking and food sales for attendees.
González Colón urged politicians and the general public to join in the celebration, highlighting the importance of the union with the United States and the protection of federal funds that the island receives.
