NPP contracts five hotels for convention lodging

By The Star Staff

New Progressive Party (NPP) President Jenniffer González Colón announced over the weekend the availability of a fifth hotel for those interested in attending the NPP’s 2024 Convention in September.

Given the success in the pre-sale of rooms for the convention, González Colón, the presumptive NPP candidate for governor, said the party managed to make more rooms available for the NPP Convention by contracting five hotels.

Less than three hours after the portal opened to make reservations at the Caribe Hilton Hotel, the site of the convention from Friday, Sept. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 15, the room bookings were sold out. The NPP then contracted a second hotel, the Costa Bahía, which also filled up. Given the great interest in the convention, the NPP also contracted the Hyatt Place, Hyatt House and the Sheraton hotels, where rooms are limited.

The NPP’s political director, Oriol Campos, said the party also made available the JGO express, a network of buses that will provide transportation for those who stay in the five hotels and attend the convention.

At the same time, Campos emphasized that it is the first time that any political party has managed to commit five hotels and nearly a thousand rooms for its convention, “demonstrating once again that the primaries unified the NPP and the great enthusiasm and hope that Jenniffer González’s candidacy [has generated].”
