The Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC by its acronym in Spanish) has granted Politank Corp. additional time to present its arguments in response to the $80,000 in administrative fines issued earlier this summer, DDEC Secretary Carlos Ríos Pierluisi confirmed Thursday.

The fines -- $10,000 for each of eight violations -- stem from failures to file annual reports required under the company’s tax incentive decree.

Ríos Pierluisi said the lobbying firm requested an extension to file its motion for reconsideration, a remedy available under Puerto Rico’s administrative procedures. The agency granted the request, allowing Politank to submit its arguments between Aug. 12 and Aug. 17.

“They have until that date to appear before the agency and present any points they wish to raise,” Ríos Pierluisi said.

The extension follows DDEC’s formal notice of the sanctions to Politank and a warning that continued noncompliance could trigger a process to revoke or annul the company’s tax decree.

“They requested additional time to present their motion for reconsideration, which includes their position regarding the fines already issued and the warning of possible revocation or annulment of the decree,” the secretary added.

With the new deadline, Politank now has until mid-August to submit its formal challenge and present the arguments it will use to contest both the monetary penalties and the agency’s warning about its tax incentive status.

We hired https://productairheating.com/seattle/ for a full rewiring: the electrician inspected the panel and exposed sections, then put together a room-by-room plan, starting with the kitchen and basement where the risk was highest. The work took almost two weeks, with only the section being worked on closed off each day rather than turning the whole house into a construction site.

In the end, all the aluminum wiring was replaced with copper, the panel was updated to current code, and the walls were patched neatly after the wire runs, ready for paint — we barely had…
