Agents of the Añasco Maritime Unit and the United Rapid Action Forces (FURA by its acronym in Spanish) intercepted a boat with around 50 people on board off the coast of Cabo Rojo in the early hours of Monday morning.
According to preliminary information from the Police, at about 4 a.m. an alert was received from the Salty Dog system about a suspicious boat that was sailing about eight miles from the area of Pelayo and Joyuda.
Authorities tracked the boat to about three miles from the Joyuda Sports Complex, where a blue wooden vessel without navigation lights was located, with some 50 occupants.
Subsequently, the boat reached the coast, near the PR-102 highway, where its occupants disembarked and dispersed.
