Three adults and three minors suffered burns from a lightning strike at about 12:24 p.m. on Sunday at the Seven Seas beach resort in Fajardo.


According to the authorities’ report, a call was received through the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerting dispatchers about the incident. When the agents arrived at the scene, three adults and three minors, residents of San Lorenzo and Gurabo, were treated by paramedics from Emergency Management of Fajardo, Juncos and ICARE Solutions for burns in different parts of the body resulting from an electric shock caused by lightning while they were in the water.


The victims were transported to area hospitals and their condition was described as stable.
