Agricultural entrepreneurs can connect with investors and access information on innovative, technological and artificial intelligence proposals for agroindustries in the 2024 AgroHack Meet-Ups series.

“The Caribbean agricultural revolution is already here in Puerto Rico. Agriculture is the essential vehicle for sustainable economic development,” said Carlos Cobián, executive director of AgroHack Meet-Ups. “AgroHack provides the tools, knowledge, and connections necessary to catalyze this growth for both experienced farmers and the many young agro entrepreneurs who have their sights set on promoting their agricultural projects.”

AgroHack, a project that began in 2016 as an agricultural innovation platform for the Caribbean, returns this year with four Meet-Ups events in Bayamón, Caguas, Ponce and Mayagüez to be held between September and November (linktr.ee/agrohack to register).

“Successful projects by agribusinesses emerged from previous events, and we want to share their stories at the AgroHack Meet-Ups. We have renewed ourselves and have much to offer in Marketing and Innovation to present how social networks, artificial intelligence, and robotics revolutionize agriculture,” Cobián said. “In addition, for networking, [attendees] will be able to connect with investors, startups, and industry leaders, as well as learn about financing opportunities for agribusiness. It is an essential event for every agribusiness owner who seeks to innovate and be visionary by taking advantage of the best available resources.”

Puerto Rico Farm Credit sponsors the meetings.

“We have already proven the success of these events and we reaffirm our commitment to agricultural innovation, which is helping to forge a future of sustainable agriculture for the Island,” said Ricardo Fernández, president of agricultural cooperative Puerto Rico Farm Credit.

For more than 100 years, Puerto Rico Farm Credit has been an ally of farmers in Puerto Rico by financing farms, loans for agricultural machinery and equipment, rural residences, and other operational needs. At the AgroHack Meet-Ups, new information about their financial support services will be available.

This year’s AgroHack Meet-Ups will be in:

• Bayamón - Engine4, Sept. 26

• Caguas - C3Tec, Oct. 10

• Ponce - Complejo Ferial, Oct. 24

• Mayagüez - UPRM, Nov. 14

The series of four meetings is the prelude to an AgroHack conference to be held in 2025 on the island, aimed at agribusiness owners from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
