Bidding process begins for renovation of Coquí Dome in Cupey


In addition to the renovation of the Coquí Dome in Cupey, the recreational facilities in the Sagrado Corazón urbanization, including the ballpark there, will also be rehabilitated, Rep. Víctor Parés Otero said.

San Juan District 4 Rep. Víctor Parés Otero announced Monday the beginning of the pre-bidding process for the rehabilitation of the Coquí Dome, an indoor facility known for hosting volleyball championships in all divisions.


“I am very pleased to report that we are already on our way to the reconstruction of the venerable Coquí Dome, a unique place in the Cupey area where volleyball is practiced at all levels,” the lawmaker said. “The pre-bidding for this important sports project for the capital city is scheduled for [Thursday] Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. We encourage any company wishing to be part of this effort to submit their documents to the General Services Administration for evaluation. The auction opens on December 19. This is a work of great importance for our people.”


In addition to the renovation of the Coquí Dome, the recreational facilities in the Sagrado Corazón urbanization, including the ballpark, will also be rehabilitated.


“The rehabilitation of these facilities is part of our commitment, along with Mayor Miguel Romero, to establish a first-class recreational/sports structure for the residents of our legislative district,” Parés Otero added. “Recreation is a vital factor in the social development of our people.”
