The body of an octogenarian reported missing last week, sparking a “Silver Alert,” was found in the Plena neighborhood of Salinas on Sunday.
According to the police, a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted the authorities to the discovery of a body of a man in a state of decomposition in the area of the El Fray farm.
The agents affirmed that the description coincided with that of 86-year-old Bernardo López López, who was reported missing last Wednesday afternoon in the Plena neighborhood and for whom the Silver Alert had been activated.
The case is under investigation by the Guayama Criminal Investigations Corps in conjunction with the prosecutor on duty.
