Authorities on Sunday recovered the body of 24-year-old Jonathan Luis Michell Álvarez, who had been swept away by ocean currents last Thursday at Poza Las Mujeres beach in the Las Palmas neighborhood of Manatí.


The body was found inside a cave. The recovery operation was successfully completed following several previous incidents. At around 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, an incident occurred involving emergency management personnel when two divers were swept away by strong waves while attempting to recover the body.


Both individuals were rescued and transported to the Medical Center in Río Piedras. One was discharged, while the other remains hospitalized; his condition was described as stable.
