Former Aguadilla mayor González Pérez remembered for ‘exemplary service’

Puerto Rico Mayors Association President Luis Javier Hernández Ortiz expressed his condolences Tuesday upon the death of former Aguadilla Mayor Alfredo González Pérez.


“It is with deep regret that we express our condolences for the death of the distinguished former mayor of Aguadilla, Alfredo González Pérez,” Hernández Ortiz said on his Facebook page. “His dedication and exemplary service left an indelible mark on the community. In this time of grief, we remember with gratitude his leadership, his commitment to progress, and his tireless work for the well-being of Aguadilla.”


“May he rest in peace, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations,” the Villalba mayor said during a ceremony held in the northwestern coastal town.


An honor guard was formed by Hernández Ortiz; Aguadilla Mayor Julio Roldán; the first lady of Aguadilla, Grisell Villanueva Respeto; the mayor’s son, José Julián Roldán Villanueva; former Aguadilla Mayor Conchita Iguartia de Suárez; and Aguadilla Municipal Secretary Maritza Ruiz Cabán.
