New Progressive Party (NPP) Vice President and Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González Colón said Monday that Dec. 3 will be the date when she will file her candidacy for governor of Puerto Rico.

As she had anticipated, González Colón will be accompanied at the event by her running mate for resident commissioner.

“We will return to the roots of the NPP to build the Puerto Rico we all envision,” she said. “With a sense of attending to problems with the urgency they require, where the priority is the people. The time to take action is now! That is why I invite all those who want to be part of a prosperous, safe and healthy Puerto Rico to join the movement of change that my candidacy represents and join me on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. when I present my candidacy to be the next governor of Puerto Rico.”

At the event, the woman with the most votes in the past four elections will announce who will be her running mate in the November 2024 general election.

“I invite you to set aside the date when I will officially start my campaign,” González Colón said. “As I have anticipated, I will be accompanied at that event by the person who will be our next resident commissioner.”
