Mayor Eladio “Layito” Cardona Quiles and the Municipal Government of San Sebastián celebrated the second edition of the event “Easter with Meaning for Our Loved Ones” on Saturday at the urban forest alongside the western town’s sports complex.
The event brought together hundreds of families and featured nearly 1,000 children who enjoyed a diverse program designed especially for them, including educational stations, shows, gifts from children’s characters, candy distribution, and the traditional Easter egg hunt. The event also included a lively appearance by the character Chicle.
“The success of this second edition of ‘Meaningful Easter for Our Children’ reaffirms our commitment to continue creating safe and educational spaces for our boys and girls,” the mayor said. “Seeing so many families sharing in an atmosphere of joy and unity is what motivates us to continue promoting activities that foster values and strengthen the social fabric of our community.”
The first lady of San Sebastián, Iris N. Barreto Barreto, who promoted the initiative, expressed pleasure with the reception of the event and its positive impact on the children of the municipality.
“The activity was designed with a lot of love for our children, seeking not only to provide them with fun, but also educational and meaningful experiences,” she said. “It fills us with joy to see so many smiles and to know that we are contributing to the comprehensive development of our boys and girls in a healthy and family-friendly environment.”
The mayor and the first lady thanked all the municipal employees, collaborators and volunteers who made the event possible.
