The Popular Democratic Party (PDP) announced the polling locations for upcoming primaries to elect the presidents of the party’s municipal committees in Añasco and San Germán, as part of its internal reorganization process.

The announcement was made by PDP Secretary General Manuel Calderón Cerame and the party’s electoral commissioner, Ernesto González Rodríguez, following the certification of more than one eligible candidate in each municipality.

“After the Qualifying Board completed its evaluation of the documents submitted by candidates seeking the presidency of the Municipal Committees, primaries will be held in Añasco and San Germán because more than one candidate met the requirements established in the party’s regulations,” Calderón Cerame said. “Voting will take place on Sunday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in each of the municipalities.”

In San Germán, the certified candidates are José Pascual Ayala Pérez and Reinaldo Somar Ramos Lorenzo. In Añasco, the candidates are Waleska Avilés Medina, Pedro Nieves Sánchez and William Matías Cortés.

González Rodríguez noted that on March 21, the party conducted the official ballot position draw. During that process, and in coordination with representatives of the certified candidates, the polling centers for election day were selected.

In San Germán, voting will take place at the following locations: Herminia C. Ramírez School, Remington Christian Academy, Lola Rodríguez de Tió School and Francisco M. Quiñones School (Minillas).

In Añasco, voters will be able to cast their ballots at Mariano Bracetti School and Alcides Figueroa School.

The PDP electoral commissioner also reminded party members that voters wishing to participate in the primaries have until April 17 to complete any necessary electoral transactions, including voter registration, reactivation or transfers, either “in person at the Permanent Registration Board or through the electronic registration system, eRE.”
