Susan G. Komen Puerto Rico celebrated the second edition of the Pink Gala with the theme “Pink Around the World” and the organization’s 20th anniversary at the luxurious Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan.
At the event, more than 500 beautifully dressed guests sashayed in themed pink gowns and classic tuxedos set against impressive décor and special touches designed by the renowned Omar Torres Luciano of Luciano Designs, Events and Flowers, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. To further complement the spectacular night in support of such a valuable initiative, attendees also enjoyed champagne and savory hors d’oeuvres while enjoying violin and cello music, and mixed and mingled with costumed characters that joined in on impromptu photos with the delighted guests.
Soon after, those in attendance glided into the beautifully decorated ballroom where hosts Estefanía Soto and Bryan Villarini; Dr. Anna Di Marco, gala president; Dr. Eva Cruz, board president; and Lynette M. Rodríguez, executive director, presented welcome speeches while expressing gratitude for everyone’s support.
The Pink Gala was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Luis Báez Díaz, founder of the organization, Dayanara Torres, ex-Miss Universe, and five breast cancer survivors who inspired us with their personal stories. To end the festivities, guests danced to El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, A Son de Guerra, The Comebacks, and DJ Ruby while indulging in a delicious buffet.
