Puerto Rico earns Pan American diplomas in swimming at Asunción 2025

Puerto Rican swimmers logged several outstanding performances earlier this week in the A and B Finals at the Olympic Aquatics Center of the II Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025 in Asunción, Paraguay.
The team earned Pan American diplomas and confirmed its consistency in the tournament.
In the womenās 400-meter individual medley on Wednesday, Andrea GonzĆ”lez placed second in the B Final with a time of 5 minutes, 17.96 seconds. In the A Final, Alexandria Cotter finished sixth with a time of 5:01.64 and secured a Pan American diploma.
In the menās 400m medley, Xavier Ruiz placed fourth with a time of 4:24.03 and AndrĆ©s Brooks sixth with a time of 4:26.27, both earning Pan American diplomas. In the womenās 4x200m freestyle relay, Alanis Santiago, Andrea Perea, Layra PagĆ”n and Lucianna GutiĆ©rrez finished seventh with a time of 8:39.69.
In the menās 4x200m freestyle relay, JosĆ© Nolla, Caleb Romero, AndrĆ©s Brooks and Xavier Ruiz finished fourth with a time of 7:33.72, earning another Pan American diploma for Puerto Rico.
Thursday was to mark the closing day of the delegationās swimming competition, with participation in individual events and relays. Jamarr Bruno was to compete in the menās 1500m freestyle; Vanessa Alvarado and Alexandria Cotter in the womenās 200m medley; AndrĆ©s Brooks and Xavier Ruiz in the menās 200m medley. Also scheduled were the menās 4x100m medley relay (Xavier Ruiz, Diego Resto, Caleb Romero and AndrĆ©s Brooks) and the womenās 4x100m medley relay (Alexandria Cotter, Luciana GutiĆ©rrez, Andrea Perea and Alanis Santiago), with the latter advancing directly to the final.
