Einar Ramos, chairman of the board of directors of the San Blas Half Marathon, announced this week that registration is open for the 62nd edition of what many consider to be Puerto Rico’s premier sporting event.

The event in Coamo that brings together the elite of long-distance running from more than 15 countries will be held on March 3, 2024.

“Registrations are available through the website https://micarrerapr.com. Runners have until January 7, 2024, to take advantage of the Christmas Early Bird, which costs $35,” said Ramos, who is also president of the Delta Phi Delta Fraternity, in a written statement. “Starting on January 8 and ending on February 3, the day of the José ‘Chelías’ de Jesús Fun Run, the cost amounts to $40. We hope that all athletes complete their registration process as soon as possible.”

Ramos noted that from Feb. 4 to March 1, 2024, registrations will cost $50. The collection of packages will take place from Feb. 26 to March 2, 2024, at La Meta Running Store in San Juan, Tienda Fondista Viajero in San Germán, Tienda Fondista Viajero in Humacao and the Delta Phi Delta Fraternity of Coamo.

He added that every athlete registered from Feb. 26 to March 1 must pick up their runner’s bag exclusively at the Delta Phi Delta Fraternity from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Additional information can be obtained by contacting 787-207-0452 or through the organization’s social networks.

“We are ready to present to the world from Coamo, Puerto Rico the 62nd Edition of the most famous half marathon,” Ramos said. “Thank you to everyone who makes this event possible, especially to the runners who are the inspiration and reason for the San Blas Half Marathon.”

The executive director of the San Blas Half Marathon board of directors, Antonio Rodríguez Colón, called on Puerto Rican athletes to participate in a quality and world-renowned event.

“For us as a board of directors, it is always a challenge to be able to present a quality event to Puerto Rico and the world,” he said. “We thank the sponsors and athletes who have always supported us and we urge you to also be part of this 62nd edition. We look forward to seeing you in the different activities that we are preparing for the enjoyment of Puerto Rican lovers of distance running.”
